The Northern (Arctic) Federal University is being established in Arkhangelsk on the basis of the Arkhangelsk State Technical University.
The University provides training at 8 faculties and 4 institutes; training is provided in two colleges: University College and college of telecommunication and information technologies. Training is carried in 78 degree programmes, 11 programmes of secondary professional education. Scientific research is carried out in 18 fields, being the priority areas of science and research development of the Russian Federation and funded from the federal and regional scientific-research programmes.
